Erasmus Mundus Joint Master — REM PLUS 2 (Renewable Energy in the Marine Environment)

A two-year (120 ECTS) Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Renewable Energy in the Marine Environment (REM PLUS 2, listed by EACEA as REM++), coordinated by the University of the Basque Country in Bilbao, Spain, with University College Cork (Ireland), Politecnico di Torino (Italy) and Ecole Centrale Nantes (France). Mobility is compulsory across three of the four partners: semester 1 in Cork, semester 2 in Bilbao, semester 3 in Nantes or Turin, and the master thesis anywhere in the consortium or its 40+ associate centres. The consortium is EU-funded as REM PLUS 2 for four cohorts from September 2026 to August 2031. The Erasmus Mundus scholarship covers tuition fees and participation costs (including insurance coverage) and pays a monthly allowance of EUR 1,400 for the whole programme, plus travel and installation cost contributions. Admission requires a first-cycle degree in naval architecture or maritime engineering, electrical, electronic, mechanical, civil, renewable-energy or energy-and-environmental engineering, physics, applied mathematics or a related engineering discipline, with a grade average of 'B' or higher on the ECTS grading scale. English at CEFR B2 is required: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 90, TOEIC 800 or an equivalent test (applicants who completed their prior studies in English may be exempt). Applications open once a year with the scholarship deadline around 15 March and selection completed by early April; the 2026 round is closed and the 2027 round is expected to open in autumn 2026.
